Christine is a French politician, economist, and lawyer who has been on the international financial stage for over a decade. From July 5, 2011, until September 12, 2019, Christine was the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). On November 1, 2019, she took over as head of the European Central Bank. Christine has held prestigious positions such as G-7 Finance Minister, Managing Director of the IMF, and the President of the European Central Bank. As an adolescent, Christine was a prominent athlete swimming for the French national team. Christine also spent part of her formative years in the U.S., attending Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland. Christine was also a legislative aide for Rep. William Cohen. In addition, Christine studied law at the University of Paris X and the Political Science Institute at Aix-en-Provence.
