Cathy is an Executive Vice President and head of the Retail Banking Group for Washington Federal, commonly known as WaFed Bank. Cathy began her banking career with Metropolitan Savings in 1988 before joining WaFed Bank in 1996 after its purchase by WaFed Bank. At Metropolitan Savings, Cathy served as a marketing manager, a role she initially continued with at WaFed Bank. Cathy excelled as the Director of Marketing and Communications, contributing to developing the Company’s strategy for expanding into all eight of its operational states and across all its product lines. Cathy’s role then migrated to head of Retail Client Experience, where she collaborated with executives and retail bankers from around the firm to improve customer satisfaction, optimize product delivery and increase customer satisfaction. Now she is EVP in charge of the Retail Banking Group. Before joining the banking industry, Cathy attended and graduated with top honors from Washington State University and participated at the Washington Federal Executive Leadership Academy. In addition, Cathy has considerable experience serving on boards and in volunteer capacities, including as president of the Puget Sound American Marketing Association and a local charity called Neighborhood House.
