Ellen is Executive V.P. of Legal Affairs and Chief Legal Officer of Truist, serving in this capacity since the merger of equals between BB&T and SunTrust in December 21019. Ellen, in her role, also sits on the company’s board of directors and oversees Truist’s legal, governmental, corporate communications, CSR, and charitable concerns. Previously, Ellen was the corporate EVP, Corporate Secretary, and SunTrust Banks Inc. general counsel, Truist’s predecessor. Before entering banking, Ellen served as CSX Corporation’s executive vice president of law and public affairs, general counsel, and corporate Secretary. She supervised the company’s legal, government, media, safety, environmental, and socially responsible activities. Before joining CSX, Ellen worked at Hunton & Williams in Richmond, Virginia.
