Kat is co-founder and co-CEO of Beneficial State Bank, a CDFI that brings sustainable banking to low-income communities. Kat is well-respected inside and outside the industry by investing her time and personal resources toward promoting social rights and environmental issues. The Bank’s revolutionary ownership requires consideration that profits are re-invested in low-income areas and the environment. In addition, Kat is a Founding Director of TomKat Ranch Educational Foundation (TKREF), which promotes a sustainable food system via ranching, training, tours, research, and school food and garden initiatives. Kat serves on the Harvard Board of Overseers, Ecotrust, Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, ProPublica, CuriOdyssey, Insight Prison Project, KQED, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. She has a JD/MBA from Stanford.
