Loretta Mester

Loretta serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, a position she has held since June 1, 2014. Loretta is the eleventh CEO at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and is involved in formulating monetary policy for the United States. In addition, she is responsible for supervising more than a thousand employees in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. These individuals are responsible for conducting economic research, managing banking institutions, and providing payment services to commercial banks a the Government of the United States. In addition, Loretta is an adjunct professor of finance at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellow at the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. The National Science Foundation awarded her a fellowship to attend Princeton University, where she received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics.
