Shriti Vadera

Shriti is well known international banker currently serving as the Chairman of Santander UK. Before joining Santander, Shriti was quite active in advising governments. For example, Shriti was an advisor to the G20 from 2009 – 2010 and was quite busy during the great recession dealing with the Eurozone crisis, the banking sector, and government restructuring of debt obligations. Shriti was also a Minister in the U.K. Government from 2007 – to 2009. In this role, she assisted the pioneering bank recap plans and funding plan in 2008 and as a lead negotiator at the G20 Summitt in 2009. Before relocating to the United Kingdom at 15, Shriti was educated in Uganda and India and raised in a typical Indian household. She studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Oxford University and Somerville College.
