Thasunda is the President and CEO of TIAA, a Fortune 100 provider of retirement and outcome-focused investments. Before TIAA, Thasunda joined JPMorgan Chase in 2004 and held multiple senior leadership positions until her departure in mid-2021. While at JPMorgan Chase, Thasunda most recently served as the CEO of Chase Consumer Banking, where she was responsible for managing 4,900 locations, 25 million checking accounts, 50,000 workers, and $500 billion in deposits. During her tenure at JPMorgan, Thasunda’s team pivoted to implementing a five-year strategy to create 400 branches in 20 new markets. In light of COVID-19, their strategic priority is to increase the distance between branch locations.
